Cryptographic Video Integrity for Evidentiary-Grade Footage
When video footage becomes evidence, everything hinges on chain of custody. A defense attorney's first question is not what the video shows - it is whether the video has been altered. Agencies that cannot answer that question with certainty risk having footage challenged, excluded, or discredited in court.
GoSecure™ solves this at the source. It applies a cryptographic signature to each video recording directly on the Axis camera itself, at the precise moment of capture - before the footage ever leaves the device. This means tampering of any kind, down to a single altered frame, is mathematically detectable. The integrity of the recording does not depend on the security of any server, upload process, or cloud platform. It is established on the camera, and it travels with the recording permanently.
GoSecure™ is built into the Rekor Scout Axis Agent platform, adding court-ready video integrity to every ALPR deployment without additional hardware, additional workflows, or additional cost.

Signed at Capture, Verified by Anyone

- Signing happens on the camera - before upload. GoSecure™ signs each recording on the Axis camera itself, not after upload to a server or back at a data center. The cryptographic signature is generated at the moment of capture, using processing that occurs locally on the ARTPEC chipset. This means the chain of custody begins at the camera and is never broken, regardless of what happens to the footage downstream - during upload, storage, transmission, or export.
- Any alteration is cryptographically detectable. The signature covers the full content of the recording. If anything in the video is changed after signing - a single pixel in a single frame, a frame removed, a clip trimmed, audio modified - the signature will not validate. The tampering does not have to be identified or isolated; it simply fails verification. This gives prosecutors a binary, unambiguous answer to the chain-of-custody question.
- Completeness is proven, not just integrity. GoSecure™ goes beyond simply proving that a clip is unaltered - it also proves that the recording has not been truncated or spliced. An agency can demonstrate that a clip is the complete, continuous capture from start to finish, rather than a selectively edited excerpt. This closes the argument that exculpatory or contextual footage was withheld.
- Independently verifiable - no reliance on Rekor. Verification does not require a call to Rekor or any proprietary tool. A signed clip can be checked by anyone - a defense attorney, an independent forensic examiner, a court -using the public verification process. What verification proves is integrity and completeness: that the video is unchanged since it was signed on the camera. This independent verifiability is precisely what makes GoSecure™ defensible in adversarial legal proceedings.
The Evidentiary Standard Is Rising
Courts, defense counsel, and oversight bodies are increasingly sophisticated about digital evidence. Metadata alone is no longer sufficient to establish that footage is unaltered. GoSecure™ provides what courts increasingly expect: a cryptographic proof of integrity that was established at the moment of capture, not reconstructed after the fact.
Unimpeachable origin
Footage signed at the camera cannot be credibly claimed to have been altered in transit, in storage, or by agency personnel after the fact - because any such alteration would break the signature.
Eliminates chain-of-custody gaps
Traditional video evidence requires establishing an unbroken chain of custody through every transfer, storage event, and access log entry. GoSecure™ - signed footage carries its own proof - the chain of custody is cryptographic, not procedural.
Accelerates prosecution timelines
When the integrity of video evidence is not in dispute, pre-trial proceedings move faster. Defense challenges to footage authenticity become non-starters when the signature is intact and independently verifiable.
Protects agencies from false tampering claims.
GoSecure™ provides a factual, technical rebuttal to allegations that footage was edited, cropped, or manipulated by the agency. The signature is the answer.

Integration with Rekor Scout Axis Agent
GoSecure™ is not a separate product requiring separate installation or licensing. It is a capability built directly into the Rekor Scout Axis Agent software platform. When Rekor Scout Axis Agent is deployed on a supported camera, GoSecure™ is active - every recording captured through the Rekor Scout Axis Agent system is automatically signed at capture. There is no additional configuration, no separate workflow for investigators, and no additional hardware.
All signed footage flows natively into the Rekor Scout® back office alongside plate reads, vehicle attribute data, hotlist alerts, and case management tools. Investigators work in a single, unified interface — GoSecure™ integrity guarantees are simply built into every clip they access.
GoSecure™ is included with all Rekor Scout Axis Agent subscriptions.
Agencies that deploy the Rekor Scout Axis Agent receive GoSecure™ video integrity automatically - at no additional cost, with no separate SKU, and with no additional configuration required.
